Cytokines and neuropeptides in the relationship stress – immunity: molecular and cellular insights

  Autor:  Florin-Dan Popescu*

 Abstract:

Nervous and immune systems are connected by several links, constituting a diffuse functional network. Neurohormones, neuropeptides and cytokines represent the major mediators of the psycho-neuroendocrino- immune axis. Cross-talk between cytokines and neuropeptides is an important aspect in the relationship between stress and immunity.

Key words: cytokines, neuropeptides, stress, immunity.
